NoxSwap vs FixedFloat: fees, KYC and refunds compared

FixedFloat is one of the best-known instant exchanges, and a fair benchmark for any swap service. Both let you swap without an account and both offer fixed rates. The differences are in what you pay, what happens if a swap gets flagged, and which coins and networks you need. Here is how they compare, checked against FixedFloat's own published terms.

The differences that matter

What you actually pay

FixedFloat publishes its fees: 1% on a fixed-rate swap and 0.5% on a floating one, with the network fee on top. That transparency is a plus. On NoxSwap you see a single number instead: the amount that lands in your wallet, with the network fee and our service fee already inside it.

Which one is cheaper changes from day to day and pair to pair. The only fair test is the same pair and amount at the same moment, compared by the amount you receive, not the headline fee.

When a swap gets flagged

This is the difference that matters most. Every instant exchange screens deposits, and a small share gets flagged. FixedFloat's terms let it suspend an order to ask about the origin of the funds, which may stay frozen until that information arrives. If you refuse or the answer is not enough, the terms allow either a refund to the sender or a freeze until an official request from law enforcement arrives.

On NoxSwap, standard swaps need no KYC. About 0.5% of transactions, large or flagged ones, are picked by the exchange partner that executes the swap for an extra AML check. If you decline it, the deposit is refunded, minus only the network fee. The one exception is a transaction suspected of links to illegal activity, which the partner may hold until the case is resolved.

Coins, Lightning and Monero

Both support Monero and Zcash. FixedFloat also supports Lightning, which NoxSwap does not, so for Lightning swaps FixedFloat is the better tool. NoxSwap covers 500+ coins and networks and shows the network next to every coin, such as USDT (TRC20), so you never send on the wrong chain.

Where you can use them

FixedFloat excludes the US, India and Georgia. NoxSwap is blocked only in Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria, so it also works in the US and India. Either way, check the rules where you live before you swap.

Questions

Is NoxSwap a good FixedFloat alternative?

For fixed-rate swaps between regular coins and Monero, yes: one all-in amount, no account and a refund without KYC if you decline a check. For Lightning or a floating rate, FixedFloat remains the better fit.

Which one is cheaper?

It depends on the pair, the amount and the moment. Compare the amount you would receive on both for the same swap at the same time; that number already reflects every fee.

Do I need KYC on FixedFloat or NoxSwap?

Not for standard swaps on either. Both screen deposits, and a flagged swap can be paused. The difference is what happens next: on NoxSwap, declining the check ends in a refund minus the network fee, while FixedFloat's terms leave room for a freeze until law enforcement asks. NoxSwap's partner holds funds only when illegal activity is suspected.

Can I use NoxSwap in the US?

Yes. NoxSwap is blocked only in Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria. FixedFloat's terms exclude the US.
