SimpleSwapsimpleswap.ioNoxSwap vs SimpleSwap: frozen funds, EU access and fees compared
SimpleSwap has run since 2018 and lists thousands of coins, which makes it a common first stop. Both services swap without an account and both offer fixed rates. The gap is in when identity checks apply, what it takes to get frozen funds back, and whether you are allowed to use the service at all. Here is how they compare, checked against SimpleSwap's own published terms.
Checked against SimpleSwap's published terms on October 29, 2026.

The differences that matter
Who can use it at all
Start here, because it decides everything else. SimpleSwap's terms exclude all 27 EU member states, the US and the UK, along with China, India, Japan and others. If you live in any of them, the comparison ends before it begins.
NoxSwap is blocked only in Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria, so the EU, the US and the UK are served.
When KYC applies
SimpleSwap's AML policy says its no-KYC approach applies only to swaps it identifies as low risk, and that verification can be required on any transaction.
On NoxSwap, standard swaps need no KYC. About 0.5% of transactions, large or flagged ones, are picked by the exchange partner that executes the swap for an extra AML check.
Getting frozen funds back
This is the sharpest difference. Under SimpleSwap's terms, frozen funds come back only after you provide ID, proof of ownership and a case filed with law enforcement, and the return costs 1% with a 100 USD minimum. On a 500 USD swap that minimum is a fifth of the money.
On NoxSwap, if you decline the extra check, the deposit is refunded, minus only the network fee. No ID, no percentage. The one exception is a transaction suspected of links to illegal activity, which the partner may hold until the case is resolved.
Coin choice
SimpleSwap lists more than 2,800 cryptocurrencies, far more than NoxSwap's 500+ coins and networks, so for a rare token it may be the only option. For mainstream coins, Monero and stablecoins on their common networks, both cover you.
Questions
Is NoxSwap a good SimpleSwap alternative?
Yes, and for anyone in the EU, the US or the UK it is the one you can actually use, since SimpleSwap's terms exclude those countries. For rare tokens, SimpleSwap's longer list may still win.
Can I use SimpleSwap in the EU?
Its terms exclude all 27 EU member states, the US and the UK. NoxSwap serves all of them and is blocked only in Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria.
What happens if SimpleSwap freezes my funds?
Under its terms you need ID, proof of ownership and a law-enforcement case filing, and the return costs 1% with a 100 USD minimum. On NoxSwap, declining a check ends in a refund minus the network fee.
Which one is cheaper?
It depends on the pair, the amount and the moment. Compare the amount you would receive on both for the same swap at the same time; that number already reflects every fee.
